Two years later,…
A lady was pushing a trolley towards room number 706. The place was Grand Lion Hotel, London. She was the house keeping. She knocked softly on the door, “Mr Georven, your lunch.”
George opened the door. He was the same like he was on the night he left Ven’s bakery. His beard had grown a little, otherwise he was the same.
“thank you.” He pulled the trolley inside and closed the door. He was about to leave that place in the evening that day. He settled down on the sofa.
“Georven…” he muttered to himself,… “George is here…but don’t know about my Ven.”
He removed the lid of the bowl and was surprised to find a folded piece of paper kept in it. He took it out immediately and unfolded it.
“I know you are here… ‘Georven,… I am safe and so are others…got to know about you after so many days,… come to the London bridge tonight at eight,…we’ll be there.
Yours,
Ven”
George couldn’t believe this. Finally he got to hear from Venesa. It seemed like it was only yesterday when he had left California. He went to many cities, many places, he didn’t wanted to stay at a place for long. The danger was always on his head. He never used his real name George. He kept changing it. All this while, when he was running, he tried hard to find any information about Venesa, Fred or her mom. He got many nightmares, that they were dead, but he was alive with the hope that they’ll meet again. Her letter after these years filled new energy in him. He cannot be mistaken, it was Venesa’s handwriting,…and they were safe. All the separation, all the pain vanished.
At seven thirty that evening, George came out of the hotel. He was on his bike and was heading towards the London bridge. His happiness knew no bounds. He wanted to reach the place as soon as he can. Venesa’s image was clear in his mind,…beautiful, soft, kind and caring,…just like his mother.
He was lost in his thoughts that he didn’t realise that a black car came just to his side. The car was so close that it could collide with George’s bike at any moment.
George turned to a side, away from the car and looked towards it. To his utter shock, one of the windows of back seat was pulled down and a man was pointing a gun at him.
He had no time to think…he increased the speed of his bike and raced forward, the bullet hit the place where his bike was present a few seconds ago. He passed a cut and two more cars came out and started chasing him. It seemed he would not be able to escape now, he was driving recklessly in order to save himself from the bullets. He took the road that didn’t go to the London Bridge. He didn’t wanted to put his family’s life in danger. They were soon on the highway. Other cars had joined the chase. A water truck was coming from the other side. He took out his revolver and shot at the huge water can. There was a blast of water on the road. Being on a bike,. George was able to flee from the scene.
George felt that he was successful in escaping from his hunters when he heard the sound of a bike nearing him.
He turned to find another biker, dressed in black outfit and wearing a black helmet, racing towards him. He understood his enemies hadn’t given up so easily. He increased his speed again and took a sharp turn. He had no option left but to head towards the bridge. The other biker was as efficient as him. George shot in his direction but the other person saved himself in time.
The biker took out a gun and aimed at one of the tyres of George’s bike…and shot. George’s speeding bike lost balance. He was thrown off the bike. He fell on the road, hurt badly.
The biker stopped the bike in front of fallen George, with a screech. Five, six cars came on the spot and covered George from all directions. The men had got down and aimed their guns at him.
Though George was wounded and caught, he got up from the ground and looked in the direction of the biker who still had the helmet on.
“Y ou must think that you won…but actually you havnt…” George shouted.
In response, the biker took out the helmet and faced George. George couldn’t believe his eyes. He felt like falling from a cliff.
“…Ven!…”
Venesa took out a dart gun and aimed towards him. She smirked and shot. George fell down unconscious.
