Till now you have read that George tries to talk to that girl after going in the café. But unfortunately, Venesa gets offended as George spoils all her cupcakes. Who is she and why was she so angry? Keep reading to find out…
Happy reading…
That evening, George found himself lost. His mind was completely taken over by that girl.
“But why did she get so angry?” George did not have the answer.
That day wasn’t very good for Venesa. Her chocolate cupcakes, so many of them, were wasted. A loss of about fifty dollars. May be this amount would have been nothing for George but for Venesa is really mattered.
She closed her shop at 7 that evening and unlocked her bicycle, unaware that George was watching her from his window. Then she was lost in the darkness.
Venesa was paddling for about fifteen minutes when she finally stopped in front of a small house.
She opened the door and switched on the light on the stairs. She was climbing up the stairs when the door of the first floor opened and thin stem lady came out. Her hair were falling on her shoulders and she looked rather miserable.
“Venesa, the electricity guy dropped this bill for you and… your dad was coughing immensely this afternoon.” She said in a tone filled with hatred and rudeness.
“Oh!… did you just checked if he needed…”
“I didn’t had time”. And with this the lady banged her door shut on Venesa face.
Disappontedly, Venesa climed further and reached the second floor. She unlocked the door with spare key and entered.
It was a small flat yet Vensa had made it comfortable. It had two small rooms, a drawing room, a kitchen area.
At that time the flat smelled of cheese.
“Dad!… are you okay? Rosa told me that you were not well today afternoon?”
Venesa said while she kept her bag on the table & joined her dad in the kitchen, who was busy making cheese cakes for dinner.
“Ah that lady… (cough)… she just knows how to make you tense (cough)”. Her father said.
“I can see… leave it.. I’ll make.” Venesa took away the plate from her father’s hand.
“You keep worrying in vain, see, I am as fine as an old man could be…” Jones said. They were on the dining table having dinner.
Venesa helped Jones to his room and made him lay on the bed. She opened the drawer to give him medicines.
“Only one tablet left…” she found herself murmuring…
Venesa was pissed off because for her even a little penny matters a lot. She is suffering from hardships and is trying hard to make both ends meet. Will George be able to befriend her? Find out in chapter 8 next week. Do share your views about today’s chapter.
